Well, it was fun while it lasted. We'll see if this video (restricted by SESAC) comes back. SESAC is a for-profit performance-rights organization in the United States. Founded in 1930 as the Society of European Stage Authors and Composers, it is the second-oldest performance-rights organization in the United States. SESAC has 30,000 songwriters and more than 1 million compositions in its catalogue.

Dennis DeYoung and the Music of Styx have performed twice at the Frontier Days Festival at Recreation Park -- on Saturday, July 3, 2010 and on Friday, July 3, 2015. Dennis DeYoung said he was flabbergasted and that he loved playing for the massive crowd in 2010 in Arlington Heights, Illinois, so it was a no-brainer for him to return five years later in 2015 (See also: JUL 03 2015 -- Ousted Lead Singer & Songwriter Dennis DeYoung Tonight at Arlington Heights Frontier Days; Fans Choice Over Today’s Styx Band – Cardinal News).

Now we have the concert free on YouTube, except the YouTube recording is from the Live in Los Angeles concert in 2014 at El Rey Theatre.  Check the amazing vocal note held by Dennis DeYoung for 25 seconds (from 1:07:54 to 1:08:18) in Suite Madame Blue.

Yesterday, Thursday, September 19, 2024 Dennis shared on Facebook the link to the copy of the Los Angeles concert that was posted by Edu Seijas on YouTube.  Dennis said at first he considered submitting a takedown order to YouTube (Dennis DeYoung and the Music of Styx - Live In Los Angeles [2014] 720p video, HQ audio) [THIS LINK NO LONGER EFFECTIVE].

We're glad Dennis DeYoung didn't order the takedown. Dennis DeYoung didn't mention YouTube monetization; but if there is monetization, the artist and whatever other entitled producers, etc. that exist, get 100 percent of the money. The uploader gets nothing, except the satisfaction of sharing some wonderful musical artistry.

Thanks to Senor Siejas for posting this video. When it was first put up I thought about having it taken down but didn't. Good thing. I never thought it would get this many views so thanks to all of you who have put an eye on it. 

What a great group of musicians and people. John Blasucci, Jimmy Leahey, Tom Sharpe, August Zadra, Craig Carter and Suzanne DeYoung you cats and kittens rock. This was an AXS TV show shot on a very small stage at the El Rey in LA. Hey that rhymes. Great video editing saved the day. I mixed the audio in my home studio. 

Thanks to Matthew DeYoung for the lighting, Dave Radley for live sound, Tim Orchard's management and Serafino Perugino from Frontiers Records for the opportunity. It's a beautiful DVD/CD package.  It's now sold over 200 million copies worldwide. Hell, why not? Making stuff up these days is in fashion. Plus People magazine voted me sexiest man alive this same year. Check --  that it was "stupidest." 

Again 2 Meeeeeeeelion views. Hot dog.
